Monday Mixer

| | Comments (2)

This was the first mixed Scotch drink that I ever had. It was the only mixed Scotch drink the bartender knew how to make. I've never had another of these as the name of this drink is well deserved.

Rusty Nail

Ingredients:

  • 1½ oz Scotch
  • ½ oz Drambuie
  • 1 twist of Lemon peel
Pour the Scotch and Drambuie into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with the lemon twist.

love these monday mixers, MM. if you dare or can afford it, i would prescribe a rusty nail with talisker 10yo. It is appropriate cuz talisker is distilled on the isle of Skye and Drambuie traces its origins back to Broadford, Skye. and the taste is just stellar... such a wide scope of flavour from pepper and smoke of the malt through the honey and herb liqueur, and it picks up on all the earthiness too. decadent, but delish.

Glad you've stopped by Dr! Hopefully I've got enough of these recipes to keep it adding fresh ones for the next couple of years. BTW, I've enjoyed catching up on the Malt Mission.
